Run Radio Explorer with extended memory resources

Each time Radio Explorer is run, there is an upper limit set on the amount of memory resources that Radio Explorer may reserve, which has an effect on the number of schedules that can be opened in Radio Explorer at the same time.

For example, if you installed Radio Explorer from the distribution zip archive file, rather than using Java™ Web Start, and launch Radio Explorer by double‐clicking theRadioExplorer.jar executable Java archive file, then the upper limit is 64 MB.

The launching script files available in theRadioExplorer directory,RadioExplorer.bat for Windows, andRadioExplorer.sh for Linux, provide the means for running Radio Explorer with extended memory resources. If you launch Radio Explorer using these scripts, then the upper limit is increased to 1 GB (1 024 MB).

Should you want to set the upper limit to a different value, you can do that by editing the launching scripts and specifying the value after the-Xmx key. There is also the-Xms key. For your information, that key provides a hint to Java software, which is used to run Radio Explorer, as to what amount of memory should be reserved initially (at the start time).

Note that if you installed Radio Explorer using Java Web Start, then by default Radio Explorer is configured to use extended memory resources. In that case, the upper limit for reserving the memory is set to the fixed value of 1 GB.
